Active & Sustainable Travel
Active and sustainable travel means making journeys by healthier, more environmentally-friendly modes, such as walking, cycling, or public transport.
-
Walk or wheel
Templeton sits on the northeast corner of Glasgow Green and there is a public walkway which runs through the green and connects with the river Clyde walkway at the western entrance to the Green. Heading west this route gives access to Jamaica Steet in the city centre which is a good opening into the rest of the city centre. Total walk/wheel time from Templeton to Jamaica street is about 15/20 minutes.
-
Train
It is extremely easy to travel to Templeton by public transport. If traveling by train on the Glasgow Central line, then your train will call at Bridgeton which is a 3-minute walk away. If traveling by train on the Queen Street line, then stop at Bellgrove which is an 8-minute walk away. Wheelchair users must embark at either Glasgow Central or Queen Street stations however as there is not yet access at local stations.
-
Bus
London Road which is on the north side of the building is a busy bus lane with buses running to and from Glasgow. The journey planning site TravelineScotland can help you plan your journey from your current location to your destination.
-
Cycle
Glasgow is becoming more accessible for bikes and there are several City Centre cycle lanes that run close to/from Templeton including the route described in walk or wheel. The Sustrans website has an interactive map which details where the easiest to use cycle routes can be found.
