Help shape the future of support in West Lothian
Strong communities are built through strong relationships.
At The Wise Group, we believe lasting change happens when communities, employers and public services work together around people rather than expecting people to navigate complex systems alone. Through our Relational Mentoring approach, we're helping create stronger pathways into employment, financial wellbeing and healthier communities across Scotland.
We're looking for a Community Partnerships & Pathways Executive to help shape a new whole-family employability programme across West Lothian. This is more than a partnership role - it's an opportunity to strengthen how organisations work together, simplify customer journeys and help families experience one connected system of support rather than multiple disconnected services.
You'll become a recognised connector across West Lothian, bringing together community organisations, employers, schools, family services, health partners and public services to create stronger pathways into learning, volunteering, training and sustainable employment.
You won't be expected to solve every challenge yourself.
Your role is to connect people, organisations and opportunities, helping services work together around families and ensuring support is coordinated rather than fragmented. That's what makes our approach different.
No two days will look the same.
One morning you might be strengthening referral pathways with a family support organisation. Later you could be meeting a local employer to develop flexible opportunities for parents returning to work, before joining colleagues to review customer journeys and identify how local partnerships can remove barriers to progression.
This is your opportunity to become part of West Lothian's local infrastructure, helping build a more connected, preventative and place-based system of support that leaves a lasting legacy for families and communities.
What you'll do
Build trusted relationships with employers, community organisations, schools, family services, health partners and public sector organisations across West Lothian.
Design, strengthen and continuously improve referral pathways so parents can move more easily between organisations and access the right support at the right time.
Work alongside Relational Mentors to coordinate progression into learning, volunteering, training and sustainable employment.
Develop employer partnerships that create meaningful opportunities including work experience, work tasters, volunteering, training and employment.
Represent The Wise Group across partnership forums, community events and local networks, strengthening collaboration and identifying new opportunities.
Use insight, data and feedback to continually improve customer journeys, partnership effectiveness and progression outcomes.
Help shape how organisations work together so families experience one connected pathway rather than multiple disconnected services.
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone who enjoys connecting people, building relationships and making things happen.
You'll be naturally curious about communities, confident bringing organisations together and motivated by improving how local systems work for families.
You'll also bring:
Experience building productive relationships with employers, partners or community organisations.
Excellent communication, networking and influencing skills.
Systems thinking, with the ability to understand how organisations fit together and identify opportunities to simplify customer journeys.
Confidence working collaboratively across organisational boundaries and bringing partners together around shared outcomes.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Good digital skills, including Microsoft 365 and CRM systems.
An understanding of employability, family support, community development or related services would be advantageous.
Knowledge of West Lothian communities and local services would be highly desirable.
Essential requirements
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for regular travel across West Lothian.
Willingness to work flexibly across communities and partner locations.
Home broadband to support flexible working.
Why join us?
You'll be joining a values-led social enterprise that's helping shape the future of public services.
Rather than delivering isolated programmes, we work alongside communities, employers and public sector partners to create stronger, more connected pathways that help people overcome poverty and build better futures.
You'll become part of an ambitious team that's demonstrating how relational, place-based working can transform customer journeys, strengthen partnerships and improve outcomes for families.
This is an opportunity to shape a brand-new programme from the very beginning while contributing to something much bigger - the future of whole-family support, partnership working and connected public services.
Help shape the future of support in West Lothian
This isn't simply a partnership role. It's an opportunity to help redesign how organisations work together around families and communities.
Join a team that's strengthening local partnerships, connecting services around the whole household and creating simpler pathways into sustainable employment.
Together we're not simply delivering a service—we're helping create a better way for communities, employers and public services to work together.
