Looking to be part of real rehabilitation? Join the Wise Group as a Relational Mentor.
We’re seeking motivated, compassionate individuals who want to play a meaningful role in supporting people through rehabilitation. As a Relational Mentor, you’ll work with men on probation and in prison across Merseyside and Cheshire, helping them overcome barriers related to finance, benefits, and debt, while supporting their journey toward a more stable, positive future.
This role is rooted in relationship-based practice, offering consistent, person-centred support that empowers individuals to change the direction of their lives. You’ll build trust, encourage growth, and help people move forward with confidence.
Your work will focus on:
✅ Building strong, supportive relationships that promote rehabilitation
✅ Helping individuals address the root causes of offending and reduce reoffending
✅ Offering guidance around essential life skills and accessing the right services
✅ Supporting people to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into the community
✅ Collaborating with probation teams, prisons, courts, police, social services, and local charities
What we’re looking for:
You don’t need a degree or background in criminal justice. If you have the right values and a desire to support people through change, we’ll provide full training. We're looking for someone who is:
- Empathetic and non-judgmental, with a genuine interest in people
- Organised and dependable, able to manage a caseload and adapt to different needs
- A clear communicator, confident working in complex environments
- Passionate about rehabilitation, personal growth, and social inclusion
A full UK driving licence and daily access to a car is essential, as well as home broadband for hybrid working. Experience in mentoring or a custodial setting is an advantage but not a requirement.
What we offer:
- A meaningful role where you can contribute to long-term rehabilitation and safer communities
- Flexible working and excellent benefits, including a strong pension scheme
- A supportive, values-led organisation focused on learning, development, and impact
- The opportunity to join a team that’s transforming how justice is delivered—from the inside out
