Location Flexible working - principally based within County Durham working within a custodial setting with some home based working
Salary £25,664 + excellent benefits
Hours 35 hours per week (flexible working)

The Wise Group, together with the Ministry of Justice and other third-sector delivery partners, have established the Women’s Service, which provides a mentoring service for almost 2000 females across the Northeast. In this service, we work hand in hand with probation/prison staff to support people holistically around various areas of need, including well being, accommodation, finance, benefit and debt, employment, dependency etc. and engage with the relevant partners.
We wish to recruit individuals who can provide advice and support to offenders using our Relational Mentoring approach. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is customer-focused and values working with people who may be challenging and have complex needs. You will play a key role in helping the Wise Group to increase our impact in our Justice work. Ensuring people entering and leaving the justice system receive the necessary support to help them manage their lifestyles. This builds upon the work we already do across our Personal Well-being and Accommodation services.
A full driving licence and daily use of a car is an essential requirement.
The post is also subject to the successful candidate passing enhanced level 1 prison vetting.
Experience of working in a mentoring role and in a custodial setting is advantageous.
Home broadband connection is also required to allow home working to be undertaken.
